The American Bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) is the largest frog native to North America and is commonly found in ponds, lakes, marshes, and slow-moving waterways.
Recognizable by its robust body, green to olive coloration, and powerful hind legs, it is often seen resting along shorelines or partially submerged among aquatic vegetation. Its diet consists of insects, fish, small reptiles, amphibians, and other prey it can overpower.
American Bullfrogs are most active during warm weather and are well known for their deep, resonant calls that echo across wetlands during the breeding season.
