Waterbirds

Canadian Goose

The Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) is a large and adaptable waterbird commonly found near lakes, ponds, rivers, wetlands, and open grassy areas throughout North America.

Recognizable by its black head and neck, white chinstrap marking, and brown-gray body, it is often seen grazing in fields or swimming in groups on open water. Its diet consists primarily of grasses, aquatic plants, grains, and other vegetation.

Canada Geese are highly social birds known for their strong family bonds, loud honking calls, and impressive V-shaped migratory formations that can travel great distances between seasonal habitats.
