Bald Eagle

The Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is a powerful bird of prey commonly found near lakes, rivers, wetlands, and coastal areas throughout North America.

Recognizable by its white head and tail, dark brown body, and large hooked yellow bill, it is often seen soaring high above waterways or perched near its hunting grounds. Its diet consists primarily of fish, though it also feeds on waterfowl, small mammals, and carrion when available. Bald Eagles are known for their impressive eyesight, strong flight, and large nests that they reuse and expand over many years.

Once endangered, this iconic species has made a remarkable recovery and remains a symbol of wildlife conservation and the natural heritage of North America.
